Nestled deep within the Salt Range of northern Pakistan lies the Khewra Salt Mine — one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world. Formed over 250 million years ago, the salt found here is unlike anything else on Earth: rich in 84 natural trace minerals, with a warm, rose-pink glow that no factory can replicate.

Himalume was born from a deep respect for this extraordinary natural resource. We work directly with trusted artisans and mine operators in the region — people who have dedicated their lives to this craft — to bring you lamps that are 100% authentic, ethically sourced, and genuinely handmade.

The Craft

Every lamp hand-carved & no two alike

Salt lamps are not manufactured. They are carved — slowly, carefully, and entirely by hand. Our artisans work with each raw crystal individually, shaping it to preserve its natural form while creating a stable, beautiful lamp. No molds. No machines. No identical pieces.

The result is something truly rare: a product that is both a functional light source and a one-of-a-kind natural sculpture. The slight variations in shape, colour, and texture you see in your lamp are not imperfections — they are proof of its authenticity.

Each lamp is fitted with a neem wood base, a UL-listed dimmer cord, and a 15-watt bulb — all chosen for safety, quality, and longevity. From the mine to your doorstep, every detail is handled with care.
